Gofundme account set up to help family of Vancleave man killed in crash
JACKSON COUNTY -- A Gofundme.com account has been set up to help the family of a Vancleave man killed in a motorcycle accident Wednesday.
The Joseph Brejcak Family fund was set up Thursday to raise $10,000 to help his family with expenses.
Brejcak's cousin Lauren Brejcak set up the account.
"Some of Joseph's friends have expressed that they would like to help in any way they can," Lauren Brejcak wrote. "As many people know, the cost that come up when tragedy like this strikes can take an additional toll on everyone. In this time of need when some of his family may not be able to be with his mom, brother, sister or other close family, we wanted to find a way to help and support them even when we are so far."
Lauren Brejcak said her cousin was "always happy" and a "breath of fresh air."
"Our lives will not be the same without him " she wrote.
Shortly before 5 p.m. Friday, 65 people had donated a total of $4,500 to help the family.
Joseph Brejcak, 29, of the 8400 block of Seaman Road, died after he lost control of his motorcycle, hit an embankment and crashed.
Witnesses said he was speeding and trying to pass a vehicle when he crashed.
The investigation is ongoing.
