Fire alarm triggered at Jackson County complex during storm
PASCAGOULA -- As the worst of the squall line began to move through Jackson County early Monday, an alarm went off in an elevator room of the Jackson County Services Complex, south of the county courthouse, triggering a response from Pascagoula firefighters around 8:15 a.m.
County employees evacuated as alarms rang throughout the building, but by 8:30 a.m. Firefighters determined it was heat build up in a closet that holds the elevator electrical equipment that set off a heat sensor.
Employees returned to work by 8:40 a.m.
In other key areas of downtown, Public Works crews have been dispatched to clear out street drains in critical areas.
