Jackson County Animal Shelter group plans Nov. 12 fundraiser

JACKSON COUNTY -- Friends of the Jackson County Animal Shelter will hold a fundraiser at the Ocean Springs and Pascagoula Raising Cane's restaurants from 5 to 9 p.m. Nov. 12. The restaurant will donate 15 percent of sales to the nonprofit organization. Customers must let them know they are there to support Friends of the Animal Shelter group.

The group raises and spends more than $20,000 a year on medical expenses and preventatives for animals it pulls from the shelter in preparation for local adoption or transport.
