Teen in critical condition after ‘reckless behavior’ with vehicle in Ocean Springs

A teen is in critical condition Friday after what the Ocean Springs Police Department referred to as reckless behavior involving three teens on Thursday.

Police say that witnesses reported that one teen suffered serious injuries after he attempted to enter the rear of a moving vehicle around 8 p.m., lost his grip and fell beneath the vehicle on Johnson Street in Ocean Springs.

The juvenile was stabilized at the scene by emergency responders, according to police, and taken by ambulance to Ocean Springs Hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later taken to USA Health in Mobile, Alabama, and is listed in critical condition.

At this time, all parties involved have been cooperative with the investigation. No arrests have been made, and the incident remains under investigation by the Ocean Springs Police Department.
