Update: Crashed car moved out of median, I-10 traffic returns to full speed

12:45 p.m.: Live video from an MDOT traffic camera shows the left westbound lane has been reopened and traffic is again moving at close to full speed.

ORIGINAL STORY

The Mississippi Department of Transportation is reporting that the left westbound Interstate 10 is closed in Jackson County.

At 11:59 a.m. MDOT reported a crash about two miles east of the Washington Avenue exit in Ocean Springs. MDOT cameras show traffic at a near standstill around mile-marker 52.

MDOT says it could take up to 45 minutes before normal traffic flow is restored and is advising drivers to avoid the area.
