Coast motorcyclist ‘driving recklessly’ hospitalized after crash, police say

A man on a motorcycle was injured Wednesday after he crashed into a car on U.S. 90 in Gautier, Police Chief David Bever said.

The crash happened on the highway near Shaw Drive.

“From what we gather, he (the motorcyclist) was driving recklessly at a high rate of speed weaving in and out of traffic and struck a vehicle,” the police chief said.

The injured man has been taken to Singing River Hospital for treatment. The extent of his injuries is unknown.

Gautier police are investigating.
