3 workers hospitalized after fire at Chevron in Pascagoula, company confirms
A fire Monday morning at the Chevron Pascagoula Refinery injured four workers, the company said.
The fire began at 8:15 a.m. Monday in a wastewater treatment area and injured contract workers, said Alan Sudduth, the company’s corporate affairs manager for Mississippi.
He said emergency responders at the refinery gave the workers first aid and that three were hospitalized.
The status of the hospitalized workers was unclear on Tuesday. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
“Our thoughts are with the affected individuals,” Sudduth said in an email. “The fire was quickly extinguished and there is no danger to the community.”
