12-year-old dead after apparent accidental shooting in home, MS Coast authorities say
A 12-year-old boy died early Monday after an apparent accidental shooting, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department said.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department the reported shooting occurred at the family’s home on Kevin Drive in the Helena Community.
Authorities did not immediately identify the child.
The Sheriff’s Department said in a news release Tuesday that autopsy and lab results are pending. The department does not plan to release any further information until the case is presented to a grand jury whose members will decide if anyone should be charged in the case.
