Motorcyclist dies in early morning crash with Mercedes in Pascagoula
A person riding a motorcycle died at the scene of a crash Monday morning near Ingalls Shipbuilding.
Jackson County Coroner Bruce Lynd Jr. identified the man who died as Ronald Wood, 49, of Vancleave.
The accident happened at 5:17 a.m. on Jerry St. Pe Highway, which runs from U.S. 90 to the shipyard.
Pascagoula Police said in a press release that a person riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling south and began to turn eastbound onto the Homeport Causeway
A white Mercedes was traveling north on the causeway and the two vehicles collided at the intersection.
The motorcyclist, later identified as Wood, was pronounced dead at the scene.
