Coast teens who died together in car crash will have joint funeral. Here are the details.
Two East Central High School juniors killed in a car crash will be laid to rest near each other following a joint funeral service.
Heritage Funeral Home in Moss Point is handling the funeral arrangements for Chloe Taylor and Baleigh Bowlin, both 16-year-old residents of Hurley, who died early Sunday morning.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Caswell Springs United Methodist Church, 18601 Mississippi 63 in Moss Point. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. the church gymnasium.
Burial for both girls will be at Serene Memorial Gardens, 12800 Mississippi 613, Moss Point.
The families of the two girls started searching for them after the girls attended homecoming Saturday night, returned to a family friend’s home later, and left to meet some friends and eat at a Waffle House in George County, a relative said.
The girls stopped at a convenience store in Lucedale before starting the drive back to Hurley. They never made it home.
Robbie Taylor, Taylor’s uncle, found the girls dead inside of Chloe Taylor’s wrecked Nissan Altima in a wooded area off Highway 613 at Lum-Reeves Road.
A preliminary investigation indicates the 2016 Nissan Altima Taylor was driving ran off the road, crashed into an embankment and hit a tree.
Since their deaths, family and friends of the two girls have created a makeshift memorial at the crash site and in the parking lot at the high school they attended.
“My heart is broken and life will never be the same without my beautiful Baleigh,” her father, Eric Bowlin wrote in a tribute to his daughter. “Her and I always had a special relationship and I’m just lost. Please keep our family in your prayers.”
Chloe’s mom, Natalie Mann-Taylor said the girls were best friends, “glued to the hip,” and were always there for one another.
“Baleigh and Chloe were the definitions of high-quality friends.,” she said Monday. “They both are flying high and will always be in our hearts.”
