A Hattiesburg staple is making its way to the Coast.
Ain’t Life Grand Investments announced Wednesday that it’s opening a Glory Bound Gyro Co. in downtown Ocean Springs in early April.
According to a release, the Coast location — which is Glory Bound’s fifth overall — was actually sparked two years ago by an online petition from a Southern Miss student.
“The petition received a lot of attention and we knew at that point, the next location had to be on the Coast,”co-founder Chris McDonald said. “I think we may even owe Jacob (Diaz) and his brothers a couple gyros.”

Glory Bound will occupy the property that’s currently Leo’s Wood Fired Pizza, a popular bar and restaurant on Government Street.
A spokesperson for Glory Bound said the new owners will partner with the Leo’s owner to marry the two restaurant concepts.
“We’re keeping the wood fired pizzas, music lineup and amazing staff,” the restaurant said in a Facebook comment.
The release says the new restaurant will seat about 120 customers with inside and outside dining and the staff will be comprised of around 40 or 50 employees — “which will include current Leo’s employees.”
“We've been looking forward to bringing the Glory Bound brand to Ocean Springs for a while now. Downtown OS is a special place with its current food and entertainment scene that simply has everything a person could be looking for, and we look forward to joining that family,” co-founder Will Taylor said. “This location will offer the same popular specials as our Hattiesburg location and we look forward to adding to the great food and nightlife scene that currently exists in downtown Ocean Springs.”
For those who are among the uninitiated, Glory Bound offers “craft hummus,” appetizers like falafel and ahi tuna, entrees like the Mediterranean plate, salads, soups, desserts and, of course, plenty of gyros. The restaurant also offers signature cocktails.
Glory Bound originated in Hattiesburg in 2009 and now has locations in three states. Its owners, Ain’t Life Grand, also owns the popular Topher’s Rock ‘N Roll Grill, which has three locations in Hattiesburg and one in Laurel.
