Woman killed in Jackson County crash identified as a 17-year-old from Ocean Springs
The woman killed in a fiery crash in the Big Point community on Sunday has been identified as a 17-year-old Ocean Springs resident.
Sheriff Mike Ezell identified her Monday as Jasmine Pierce.
The crash occurred about 12:35 a.m. on Big Bend Road.
Pierce was northbound when the car she was driving left the road, struck a tree and caught fire, Ezell said.
Emergency responders were not able to identify her immediately.
Pierce was in the car alone, Ezell said.
