Law enforcement agencies in Jackson County asked the public to help them find a missing 15-year-old girl, who later in the day was in contact with family through social media.
Zoey Bumgarden was last seen Saturday when a family member dropped her off at a pool in Gautier.
The white female with long, light brown hair and brown eyes also has a navel piercing and a tattoo on her back left shoulder that says, “Patience.”
According to her Facebook page, she has been talking to family. Her mother Stacy Marie Bumgarden contacted the Sun Herald through Facebook and said she found her daughter near Horn Lake, Mississippi, and is returning her to Zoey’s grandparents, who have custody. She said she expects her to be back in Gautier on Wednesday.
Anyone with information about Zoey is asked to contact Gautier police at 228-497-2486.
