One person was airlifted to a South Alabama trauma center after a single-vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon
Harrison County Fire Services Chief Pat Sullivan said the accident happened on Kiln-Delisle Road when an SUV left the road, went through a guardrail and overturned in a ditch.
Sullivan said it took about 45 minutes to extract the woman from the vehicle, which he described as “mangled.”
After being stabilized, she was taken by helicopter to the trauma center, where she was is being treated for her injuries.
Sullivan did not have an update on her condition as of Wednesday morning. The driver was the only occupant in the vehicle.
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident.
