Firefighters rescue dog from condo fire

Firefighters rescued a dog this morning after a fire began in the kitchen of a unit of Treasure Coast Condos on McDonnell Ave., said Battalion Chief Joe Boney.

Boney said the Biloxi Fire Department received the call of the fire at about 8:55 a.m. Four units and 12 firefighters responded. The renter made it out of the condo, but responders had to go in to rescue the dog, he said.

Both are in good condition and fire fighters contained the blaze, but the fire left minor to moderate damage to the condo, Boney said.
