Police searching for suspect in auto burglary

BILOXI – Police are looking for a Biloxi man in connection with a auto burglary overnight, officials said.

The car, taken late Thursday, from the 13500 block of John Lee Road, was recovered near Mississippi 605 and Dedeaux Road in Gulfport, said Sgt. Christopher De Back.

One of the occupants, Jerry Lewis Williams III, 26, had already fled from the area on foot.

The driver of the car, Shawna Lee Hover, 27, of Biloxi, was detained.

Several pieces of the victim’s property were recovered from Hover’s car, he said.

Hover was charged with burglary of an auto and taken to Harrison County jail. She was denied bond by Justice Court Judge Bruce Strong because she was already on bond for a prescription forgery charge, he said.

Anyone with information about Williams is asked to call Biloxi police at 392-0641 or Crime Stoppers at 877-787-5898.
