A former teacher indicted on sex-crime charges involving two students is back in jail today, charged with aggravated assault on a police officer and exploitation of a child.
Katryna Lolitta Martin, 28, of Gulfport is held on $1 million in bonds set by Justice Court Judge Gene Dedeaux.
Gulfport police arrested Martin last night in an incident that apparently occured while a detective had her under surveillance on Cuandet Road.
Martin was a teacher and basketball coach at North Gulfport 7th and 8th grades when charges were filed in February 2009 in the first of two sex-crime complaints. She has been indicted on those charges, to include sexual battery and molestation of a 14-year-old girl and statutory rape involving a 15-year-old boy.
