In response to flooding along the Biloxi River, Turkey Creek and other areas, the Department of Public Works has announced a plan to hand out sandbags to residents who need them.
The department will make sandbags available during the normal workday 7a.m.-3:30 p.m. to all residents at the Public Works facility on Hewes Avenue. Each resident will be allowed a maximum of 10 bags.
Harrison County has a site on Cowan Road that also has sandbags available, according to Public Works Director Benny Wolfe.
