NBC Nightly News will be in town this weekend to work on a story about Biloxi's Katrina sculptures for an upcoming broadcast, the city of Biloxi announced today.
Correspondent Mark Potter, who filed several national stories from Biloxi in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, will be in town to film sculptor Marlin Miller as he completes work on what is scheduled to be the final of 21 sculptures on the Biloxi beachfront.
Potter's story is scheduled to air on the NBC Nightly News on Feb. 2. NBC averages an audience of more than 10 million in a broadcast.
"We're certainly pleased that NBC has chosen to bring national attention to this project," Mayor A.J. Holloway said. "We began with five sculptures, and then Marlin came along and the project really took off. It's a great story all the way around."
