A 15-month-old child escaped serious injuries when an older child mistakenly put a utility vehicle, called a Gator, into reverse.
The toddler was standing behind the Gator side-by-side when "a juvenile hit reverse and it pushed him over," Sheriff Troy Peterson said.
Deputies and paramedics were called to Ann Road off Turan Road shortly after noon Thursday. The neighborhood is in the Success community south of Old Highway 67 near Saucier.
The child was taken to a hospital and was treated and released, Peterson said.
