The Mississippi Aquarium is slated to open in 2019, but jobs have already been posted to the aquarium’s website.

The aquarium, which will sit on nearly 6 acres and contain over 80,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor exhibits, is hiring now for six positions.

The positions include construction and maintenance personnel, digital marketing manager, life support system operator, executive assistant to the president and CEO, director of animal husbandry and senior vice president and chief operating officer.

The aquarium posted the job openings on Facebook on Tuesday, and the post had already been shared 749 times by Thursday afternoon.

To apply for any open position, the aquarium asks that people send a resume, cover letter and relevant work samples to resume@msaquarium.org.

Aquarium director David Kimmel told the Sun Herald in August that penguins will formally open the aquarium in 2019.
