Authorities are trying to identify a man whose body was recovered from the Mississippi Sound.
Biloxi Fire and Rescue and the Department of Marine Resources went to the scene south of the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art Tuesday morning
The body was brought to shore about 9 a.m.
A charter boat captain had notified DMR of a body in the water about 8 a.m., said DMR spokeswoman Melissa Scallan.
The man was brought ashore and Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove was called to the scene.
The man had no identification on him, Hargrove said.
“We’re trying to get him identified, but right now we have no clue who he was or what he was doing in the water.”
Hargrove said the body was being sent to the Mississippi Forensics Laboratory near Jackson for an autopsy on Wednesday.
