The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality issued water-contact advisories for two sampling stations in Harrison County.

The advisories cover from Fort Henry Avenue to Elliot Street in Pass Christian and from Alfonso Drive to Arkansas Avenue in Gulfport.

Those segments of beach are not closed but there may be a risk of illness to those who swim there.

The Beach Task Force also has a standing recommendation to avoid swimming during or within 24 hours of a significant rainfall.
