Bay St. Louis Ward 6 under boil water alert
BAY ST. LOUIS -- A boil water notice has been issued for the residents of Ward 6.
City Council Clerk Lisa Tilley released news of the alert Monday afternoon.
Due to a ruptured water main, all residents in Ward 6 who receive water service from Hancock County Water and Sewer remain under a boil water alert until further notice.
The alert does not apply to residents who receive water from the City of Bay St. Louis, Tilley said. The alert is only for residents who receive their water from Hancock County.
"If your water comes from Hancock Water and Sewer, you must boil your water for at least one minute before using it," Tilley said in a press release. "You will be notified when the water has been tested and is safe to use without boiling."
