Sen. Sean Tindell asks for help finding missing cousin
State Sen. Sean Tindell put a plea on his Facebook wall Sunday night, with a photo of his smiling, bearded cousin from Stone County:
"My cousin Brody "B.J" Brown has been missing since last night. He was last seen about 9:30 at Muddy Joe's in Hancock County. This picture was taken just beforehand. If you have seen, heard, or know anything please report it to authorities."
Brown and his family were camping for the weekend at Muddy Joe's, an off road and RV park north of Kiln. Brown, 34, was with his wife, Jenni Brown.
They were at a concert at the campground when B.J. Brown said he was going to the restroom. When he did not come back, Tindell told the Sun Herald, his wife thought he had gone off with friends. She waited and worried.
The family reported him missing at noon Sunday.
"People have been out on their 4-wheelers and ATVs searching," Tindell said. "The first responders have kind of taken over. Now they’ve got dogs; perhaps a search by air tomorrow."
Sheriff Ricky Adam said officers also are reviewing surveillance tape from Muddy Joe's.
B.J. Brown, the father of two sons, worked hard, his cousin said.
"He went to work offshore when he got out of high school," Tindell said. "He’s been doing that for 15 years and taking care of his family. It’s not like him at all to go somewhere without staying in touch.
