A woods fire Thursday burned 400 to 500 acres of land near Port Bienville Industrial Park in southwestern Hancock County, but officials said forestry workers and county firefighters were working to control the blaze.
"It's not completely under control, but it's not out of control, according to forestry workers," Hancock County Emergency Management Director Brian "Hooty" Adam said.
The presence of rail cars had been a concern, but port and railroad workers moved them out of harm's way, Adam said.
The woods were burning between Old Lower Bay Road and Lower Bay Road at the port, Adam said.

"We're still looking at it to determine what caused it," Adam said.
The fire was reported about 1 p.m.
The 3,600-acre park connects about a dozen businesses to area waterways and to the CSX Railroad.
