Diamondhead Fire Department names assistant chief

There's a new assistant fire chief in Diamondhead, and he has more than two decades of experience.

Diamondhead Fire Chief Jerry Dubuisson said Anthony "Tony" Sciacca was promoted to assistant fire chief Jan. 1.

Sciacca is a Hancock County native and has been a member of the Diamondhead Fire Department for more than 20 years.

Dubuisson said Sciacca is an emergency medical technician and has a degree in fire science from Columbia Southern University.

Sciacca is filling the position after the retirement of Rodney Aguzin.
