LifeFlight will land at Hancock Medical safety fair
BAY ST. LOUIS -- Ochsner Medical Center's LifeFlight Rescue I Medical Helicopter will land at 9 a.m. Saturday at Hancock Medical to kick off the Injury Prevention Fair.
Hosted by the Mississippi Coastal Trauma Care Region, area hospitals, first responders and ambulance companies, the 5th annual Injury Prevention Fair is free to the public.
It will be at the Hancock County Walking Track in front of Hancock Medical Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will feature safety demonstrations and vendor information and giveaways. Refreshments will be available.
Police, firefighters, paramedics, doctors and nurses will be teaching safety and injury prevention. Kids will be able to tour the inside of the helicopter and other emergency vehicles.
The fair will provide car seat safety checks, rollover and seatbelt safety demos, a teddy bear clinic, fireworks safety, hunting safety, gun safety, water safety, the dangers of distracted driving, bounce houses and a free photo booth.
Sponsors of the event are the Mississippi Coastal Trauma Care Region, AMR and Acadian Ambulance Companies, Garden Park Medical Center, George Regional Health System, Hancock Medical Center and Ochsner Health System, Memorial Hospital, Merit Health, Singing River Health System and the University of South Alabama Health System.
