Early-morning fire destroys two homes in Waveland

An early-morning fire today fully destroyed two homes on North Shore Drive and caused major damage to a third.

An unidentified man who jumped from one of the homes was taken by AMR ambulance to a local hospital.

No other injuries were reported, said Waveland Assistant Fire Chief Mike Smith.

Smith said when firefighters arrived shortly after the 3:40 a.m. call, they found two of the homes fully involved.

County Fire Marshal John Albert began his investigation this morning.
