Police searching for suspect after shooting at MS Coast parade, authorities say
Authorities are searching for a suspect accused of firing a gun on Sunday during the Krewe of Nereids parade in Waveland, police said.
Waveland Police Chief Mike Prendergast said the shooting happened Sunday afternoon on the parade route at Nicholson Avenue and Highway 90. No one was injured.
Police said the suspect fired three rounds and ran away. Two people who were with the suspect also ran off, according to Prendergast.
The two people the suspect was with were detained but will not face charges, Prendergast said.
Authorities said it was unclear what led to the shooting.
