Here’s the funeral procession route for Bay St. Louis police officers killed in line of duty

The two Bay St. Louis, Mississippi police officers who were gunned down while responding to a welfare call at Motel 6 last week will be remembered during a joint funeral and procession to the cemetery.

Law enforcement from across the region and residents of South Mississippi will gather to honor Sgt. Steven Robin and Officer Branden Estorffe.

The schedule includes:

  • Services will be at the Bay St. Louis Community Hall, 301 Blaize Ave.
  • Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m.
  • The funeral service begins at noon.
  • At the conclusion of the service, a law enforcement procession will escort the fallen Officers to Gardens of Memory Cemetery for graveside services.

The procession will leave the community center, turn onto Union Street to Beach Boulevard and then turn onto U.S. 90. The procession will circle back around to Waveland Avenue and Central Avenue to the cemetery.

In addition to a long procession of police cars, Coast residents are expected to stand along the route in salute of the officers as they pass.

Public parking will be at the Saint Stanislaus stadium off Bookter Street. Parking for visiting law enforcement departments also will be off Bookter Street.

Roads in those areas will close as early at 12:15 p.m. and the route will be closed until the procession ends.

Preparations have been ongoing since the officers were shot and killed Dec. 16 outside of the motel on Highhway 90.

Casey Dylan Lawhon, owner of KC Vinyl Wraps in Gulfport, created black and blue wraps for the officers’ caskets, as he’s done to honor other fallen officers and children who died too soon.
