Joint funeral service will be held for Bay St. Louis Police officers who died together

Two Bay St. Louis police officers who died together in a shooting will have a joint funeral on Wednesday, Dec. 21.

Sgt. Steven Robin and Officer Braden Estorffe died together Wednesday outside Motel 6 in Bay St. Louis while responding to a call.

Visitation for their family, friends and the community will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Bay St. Louis Community Center, 301 Blaize Ave.

The funeral service begins there at the community center at noon.

The fallen officers will be escorted by a large law enforcement procession to Garden of Memory Cemetery, 630 Central Ave. in Bay St. Louis, where they will receive honors by the Mississippi Highway Patrol Honor Guard.

It is a short distance from the community center to the cemetery and a long procession is anticipated. A route is being planned, likely along the beach and U.S. 90 through Bay St. Louis. The route will be announced.

In Memory Casket Wraps in Gulfport is making custom wraps for the officers’ caskets. Owner Casey Dylan Lawhon made the first wrap for his sister and continues to make them when asked.

“Canceled today’s work and we are dedicated to personalizing these caskets for these men in blue,” Lawhon posted on Facebook.

Those who want to send flowers for the service should have them sent to the community center.

Reimann Family Funeral Home in Waveland is handling the arrangements for Estorffe.

Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis is handling arrangements for Sgt. Robin.

Bay St. Louis and the Coast is in mourning for the officers. Hundreds of people attended a candlelight vigil Thursday night to remember the officers.
