Coroner identifies man, woman who died in fatal crash on Highway 603 in Kiln

Two people are dead and two people are injured after a wreck Tuesday on Mississippi 603 in Kiln, the state’s Highway Patrol said in a press release.

State troopers responded to the scene of the crash at around 2:20 p.m.

Hancock County coroner Jeff Hair identified the deceased as Eddison Watson, 52, of Bay St. Louis and Dawn Marie Moore, 48, of Kiln.

Hair said Watson and Moore were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Hair said the two-car wreck occurred at the highway near Shiyou Road, just north of the Jourdan River Shores community. Watson was the driver of one the vehicles involved in the crash and Moore was his passenger.

A press release from the Highway Patrol on Wednesday stated that a 1995 Ford F-150 driven by Watson was traveling north on Highway 603 when it collided with a 2021 Dodge Ram driven by Patrick Kayda, 68, of Bay St. Louis, who was traveling south.

Kayda and his passenger, Elizabeth Ann Paul, 66, of Bay St Louis, were seriously injured in the crash.

This crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol. A medical helicopter was also deployed to the scene.

Hancock County Sheriff Ricky Adam said Highway Patrol is handling the investigation and deferred questions to them.
