A woman is dead and the driver of an ATV is charged after a train hit an ATV stuck on the railroad tracks Sunday.
George County Sheriff Keith Havard said David Allen Gibson, 55, and an unidentified female, age 48, were riding an ATV on the railroad tracks in the vicinity of Mississippi 198 West and Ernest Pipkins Road at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
The pair were attempting to get one of the ATV tires unstuck from the rail when the ATV was hit by the train, police said. Gibson was able to escape, but the woman was was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gibson was arrested and charged with DUI causing death. He was booked into George County Regional Jail.

Police said the identity of the woman is not being released at this time pending notification of her family.
The incident is still under investigation.
