George County jail worker arrested on sex with inmate charges
A jail worker in George County has been arrested on two counts of sexual battery.
George County Sheriff Keith Havard said Warren Avery, 58, was arrested after an investigation determined Avery was having sexual relations with an inmate.
Havard said Avery was “immediately fired” from his position with George County, where he had been an employee since 2009. He is being held in the Stone County jail.
Avery was arrested Thursday night. The findings from the investigation will be presented to a grand jury, Havard said.
