Tar balls still washing ashore on Horn Island

Tar balls were found littered across the southwest end of Horn Island today.

Doug Borries of Ocean Springs quickly filled a 16-ounce plastic bottle with them. Cleanup from the BP oil disaster has virtually ceased because it would disrupt nesting shore birds.

The oil is embedded in the sand where the high tide rolls in.
