The Mississippi Habitat Stewards Program, a part of the Mississippi Wildlife Federation, offers an opportunity for lovers of outdoors to make a difference on the Coast. Habitat Stewards volunteers devote time to improving natural sites.
Volunteers participate in free training, which consists of field trips to various public lands the program partners with, and local ecology and habitat management instruction from a restoration ecologist.
Training classes are Sept. 16, Sept. 30, Oct. 14, Oct. 28 and Nov. 11.
