Kevin Costner, Raiders and Rebirth: The things you’ll want to do this weekend

It’s not often that an A-list actor brings his rock band to South Mississippi, but music fans will have the chance to catch Kevin Costner and Modern West whey they play a show at the Brownstone Center on the campus of Pearl River Community College in Poplarville on Friday. The show starts at 7 p.m. and tickets can be purchased here.

“Raiders! The Story of The Greatest Fan Film Ever Made” will have make its Mississippi big-screen debit on Friday at the Beau Rivage Theater. Tickets are $10 and are available here.

New Orleans funksters the Rebirth Brass Band will make their way to Ocean Springs with a show at the Juke Joint. Blackwater Brass will open the show.

70s rockers Three Dog Night will be at the IP Casino Resort on Friday at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $40. The show is almost sold out, but check Ticketmaster.com to see what’s available.

Thacker Mountain Radio, the pride and joy of Oxford, will leave the Hill Country and bring its traveling to show to the Mary C. in Ocean Springs. The bill includes Sugarcane Jane and blues artist Kingfish.

Whatever you do this weekend, her’s your playlist featuring new releases from Britney Spears, Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Eat World so you can do it in style.

Chandeleur Island Brewing Co., 2711 14th St., Gulfport,will host its first School Supply Drive for the students of the Gulfport School District with a benefit brewery tour and bingo games. School supplies are essential and needed throughout the year. With a $10 donation of school supplies, or cash, participants receive one ticket to tour the brewery and brew tasting and one bingo card. Brew master bingo doesn’t use letters and numbers, but uses beer and brewing terms picked randomly to cover squares. First game starts at 5:45 p.m.
