Prayer service in Gulfport to remember Dallas police officers

Law enforcement agencies throughout Harrison County invite the public to a prayer service Saturday to remember the slain and wounded police officers in Dallas.

The 9 a.m. service is at First Baptist Church of Gulfport at 12190 Mississippi 605, which is about two miles north of the Interstate 10 Cowan-Lorraine Road exit.

“It is important that we come together as one community and not fall victim to the unrest that is occurring nationally,” the county agencies said in a joint news release Friday. “Our community needs its law enforcement and our law enforcement needs our community.”

Biloxi police and military personnel held a brief prayer service Friday outside the Lopez-Quave Public Safety Center.
