Blind Tiger gets a bit closer to approval in Biloxi
“The lease is signed and dated,” Wayne Hengen, attorney for the owners of the Blind Tiger restaurant proposed for the waterfront at Harrah’s Gulf Coast, told the City Council on Tuesday. “Let’s get this project going.”
The council had a first reading to update the master plan of Harrah’s Gulf Coast, which is needed to allow the seafood restaurant to be built on the west side of The Great Lawn south of U.S. 90. The council could vote at the next meeting, July 19, to approve the lease and let construction begin.
Hengen said he frequently visits the Blind Tiger in Bay St. Louis. “I see a lot of Biloxi people over there,” he said. LIke that restaurant, he said, the Biloxi Blind Tiger will have wonderful views and a great chef in Thomas Genin.
“Bringing it to Biloxi is kind of a challenge,” Hengen said.
Mayor Andrew “FoFo” Gilich said the developers have been receptive to the city’s suggestion to design the restaurant with the the look of old Biloxi.
“We want them to move forward,” Gilich said.
