K-9 nabs Vancleave man sought in carjacking, credit card fraud

Deputies on Friday dispatched a sheriff’s K-9 to track down a Vancleave man sought on carjacking and credit card fraud charges.

Harrison County Sheriff Troy Peterson said deputies arrested Cody Dan O’Neal, 25, after responding to several calls about a man trespassing in backyards near Wade Lane in north Gulfport.

Deputies learned they were looking for O’Neal, who was wanted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department for carjacking and by the Biloxi Police Department for credit card fraud, Peterson said, adding the K-9 helped find and apprehend him.

O’Neal was taken to Harrison County jail where he is being held for Jackson County and Biloxi authorities.
