Illustrator Steve Scott will sign copies of ‘Independence Day’ movie tie-in comic at 3 Alarm Comics
Comic illustrator Steve Scott of St. Martin will be signing copies of the official “Independence Day: Resurgence” movie tie-in comic he created at 3 Alarm Comics on Saturday and Sunday.
Scott, most notable for his work on the iconic character “Batman,” is no stranger to bringing the big screen to life in comic form — he has also worked on the legendary “Indiana Jones.”
Scott, who works out at 3Alarm Comics, will be signing issues of the comic as well as an exclusive limited edition 3 Alarm Comic variant comic.
“We only have 500 copies of the limited edition comics printed exclusively to the shop,” Scott said.
The prequel comic acts as a bridge and explains what happened in the 20 years leading from the 1996 blockbuster hit “Independence Day” to this year’s sequel, “Independence Day: Resurgence.”
Titan Comics said in a statement about the comic: “Twenty years after the events of the first film, the international community recovers and builds up Earth’s defenses using technology salvaged from remains of the alien forces. However, the aliens were able to send a distress signal before their final defeat, which results in a new task force of alien ships coming to Earth and threatening the human race once more.”
Scott Hoverman, owner of 3 Alarm Comics, said, “Steve is going to be set up here signing.
“Normally the limited editions go for $10, but we will be selling them for $5 Saturday and Sunday.”
Scott will be at 3 Alarm Comics on Saturday and Sunday, signing comics, and meeting and drawing sketches for fans.
