Welcome to the new Sun Herald
Today, the Sun Herald begins major improvements to the look of its digital and print editions.
The way readers get news is constantly changing.
These improvements ensure the Sun Herald evolves with journalism’s changing landscape.
The changes will allow us to play to the strengths of the different platforms in which we deliver news, while also staying true to our commitment to be South Mississippi’s best and most comprehensive source for local news.
The new look is designed for two types of readers – those who like to scan the news and those who like to dig deeper.
Many stories will have additional headlines to summarize the news for you.
Many stories also will feature key quotes, statistics, maps or videos selected by our staff to help readers quickly grasp the news.
Our new front page will highlight the day’s biggest stories and provide help finding content inside the paper.
For more complex stories, we’re starting a new “Insight” feature to help explain topics in words, photos, videos and graphics.
At sunherald.com, you’ll see a new design that should make the website easier to navigate.
Before making these changes, our parent company, The McClatchy Co., did extensive surveys with readers.
We think we’ve taken the best of the best of those results and rolled them into the Sun Herald.
Please spend some time with us in whatever way you like and let us know what you think.
We’ll keep making changes based on your feedback.
