Woman charged with felony DUI causing death

D'IBERVILLE - A 24-year-old Pass Christian woman has been arrested on charges of felony driving under the influence causing death, authorities said.

Chief Wayne Payne said Sara Jane Koch is being held in the Harrison County jail on a $500,000 bond set by Harrison County Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain.

Police say Koch was westbound on Interstate 10 shortly after 5 a.m. today when her vehicle veered off the road and struck Donald Louis Sullivan, 45, who was walking along the right shoulder.

Lt. Terry Hines said Sullivan was walking west to the Cedar Lake exit to get a ride to work from a friend because his vehicle was broken down.

Investigators determined Koch was driving impaired, he said.
