Tornado watch in effect for Coast (Updated 8:30 a.m.)

The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a tornado watch until 10 a.m. for South Mississippi.

A tornado warning was issued this morning for Hancock County that expired at 8:15 a.m.

The tornado watch is in effect for Harrison, Hancock, Jackson and Pearl River counties.

There is a 60 percent chance of rain this morning as a cold front moves into the area. The high today will be in the mid-80s, but once the front moves through, temperatures will begin to drop. The low tonight in South Mississippi will be in the 40s.
