Gautier cop accused of sex crimes (updated 1:40 p.m.)

GAUTIER - Bond has been set at a total of $150,000 for a Gautier police officer indicted on a 15 felony charges accusing him of having sex with a minor while in a position of trust.

A Jackson County grand jury indicted Robert Brian Hill, 44, on 15 felony charges, three each for sexual battery, and 12 counts of child molestation or touching of a child for lustful purposes.

An investigation was launched into the alleged crimes in July. Hill is a 13-year law enforcement veteran, working the last three years in Gautier. He worked on patrols in Gautier before being assigned in May to the Narcotics Task Force of Jackson County. He was placed on administrative leave in July as a result of the investigation ultimately leading to his indictment and arrest.

Hill is being held in Jackson County's maximum-security jail.
