Woman tried to run over former boyfriend, police say

BILOXI -- An Ocean Springs woman has been charged with aggravated domestic violence after she allegedly tried to run over her former boyfriend, police said.

Jennifer Sparks, 25, of Oak Street, was arrested Saturday after an investigation showed Sparks tried to hit the man with her vehicle Friday after he exited his own vehicle to investigate a hissing noise, said Biloxi Police Sgt. Donnie Dobbs.

Dobbs said Sparks punctured a tire on the man’s car with a knife as he waited at a red light at Caillavet Street and U.S. 90.

The victim was able to move and Sparks struck his vehicle at the driver’s door before fleeing the scene, Dobbs said.

Sparks turned herself in to police Saturday and was taken to Harrison County jail on a $25,000 bond set by Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain, he said.
