Two Louisiana residents died in a two-car accident in front of Isle Casino on Thursday night, police said.
The two killed have been identified as Harrietta Brockett, 71, of Covington, and Alvin Perrault Sr, 84, of Mandeville, Chief John Miller said.
Miller said the two who died were in a Honda Accord traveling eastbound on U.S. 90 about 8:30 p.m. when it appears they attempted to turn left onto Myrtle Street in front of a Chevy Suburban SUV, which struck the car in the passenger side. An investigation into the cause is under way.
Claudette Pernault, a passenger in the Honda Accord, was critically injured and taken to the hospital.
The driver of the SUV, Robert Goundas, 42, of Biloxi, was not injured.
