The Great American Country network will film in South Mississippi on Saturday as part of the Visit MS Coast “Wish You Were Here” multi-platform tourism campaign funded by BP. The campaign has been running since June 29.
GAC’s “Top 20 Country Countdown” featuring the Mississippi Gulf Coast airs Nov. 5 through Nov. 8. The “Wish You Were Here” TV spot began running nationally on GAC on Sept. 27 and will continue through Nov. 15 with a total of 198 spots.
Part of the filming is expected to include the Darius Rucker concert at Hard Rock Casino. The GAC partnership is the second national effort to be included in the Mississippi Gulf Coast tourism campaign funded by BP and administered by MDA. Mary Beth Wilkerson, director of tourism for the Mississippi Development Authority, says, “We were very pleased with the national exposure received for the Mississippi Gulf Coast through the VH1 partnership. With our TV spots, the strong presence on gactv.com, programs and contests, we’re really reaching and engaging this national audience on all levels.”
