HARRISON COUNTY - Deputies overnight rescued a family of five who were rafting down Wolf River and became stranded on a sand bar. Sheriff Melvin Brisolara said the two adults and children ages 8, 10 and 12 were a couple of hours late in meeting a group down river when dispatchers were called around 10 p.m. Monday. "We brought out a helicopter and put in boats at Cable Bridge and found them on a sand bar," Brisolara said. "With the weather conditions, it was't easy, but they were all right." The sheriff said the stranded family had planned to say on the sand bar until daybreak. The Sun Herald updates this story in Wednesday's editions.
